Case Study: "Town" Restaurant Branding & Menu Design
Project Type: Academic / Brand Identity & Print Design Role: Graphic Designer
The Objective For this school project, I was tasked with developing a cohesive brand identity and physical print materials for a fictional, high-end Chinese restaurant named "Town." The goal was to design a comprehensive collateral package that communicated luxury, authenticity, and an experiential dining atmosphere while effectively organizing complex menu and event information.
The Design Approach To capture the restaurant's upscale mission and its cultural theme of good fortune (福), I utilized a sophisticated color palette of deep charcoal, crisp white, and bold red accents. The visual identity blends modern, clean typography with rich, textured backgrounds and striking food photography to create a premium feel.
As part of the project, I designed a multi-purpose print package that includes:
A Comprehensive Menu: A clean, structured layout that balances various food categories—from appetizers and main dishes to specials and desserts—establishing a clear visual hierarchy so customers can easily navigate their options.
A Double-Sided Promotional Brochure: Designed to highlight the restaurant's mission statement, dining promise, and special event offerings. I also integrated a functional birthday and event registration form directly into the layout to demonstrate practical, user-focused design.
The Result This project served as an excellent opportunity to refine my skills in layout design, information architecture, and brand storytelling. By balancing aesthetic appeal with practical functionality, the final deliverables successfully reflect the premium, welcoming experience of the "Town" brand.
